Topscape replaced our old railroad tie retaining wall. It was incredibly reasonable pricing and Giovanni was excellent with communication. When they started work, they completed everything in a timely manner, even repairing the steps between the walls that wasn't part of the bid, and thoroughly cleaning the driveway and street of dirt and gravel. We highly recommend Topscape!
Just had one of their wrapped vehicles run through a red light and almost T-bone me they should probably reconsider who they get to drive their vehicles originally was a one star review the owner reached out to me and is addressing the driver of the problem

They did an AWESOME job. We couldn't be happier. They provided an estimate ON THE SPOT! We didn't have to wait a week for just an estimate. Our job had its challenges due to current patio that was there and had to be taken out, but they made it look beautiful. They were very meticulous. The workers were prompt and friendly. Cleanup was awesome. Can't say enough good thinks about them.

We hired Topscape Landscaping to do some re-grading around our house and to bury our down spouts. Not only did they return our quote quickly, they completed the job in 2 days! The BEST and I don't say that easily!! Today you don't get kind and honorable customer service and I received both. They took us on as a new customer in the middle of the unprecedented storms we are having. Showed up when they said they would and dug out 2 days worth of blizzard at a very, very fair price. Giovanni was very kind and when they arrived, for their second plowing, they spoke to us to make sure everything was okay. Topscape was a bit more expensive than others but I worked on large construction jobs for 40 years and have learned that generally you get what you pay for. I paid the extra and received a very professional job that was well worth the money. They met or exceeded all my expectations. They somehow even managed to clean up the street and driveway of all the top soil. Can’t even tell they were there. I would highly recommend them.

Did a great job making our vision for our front yard become a reality. They worked quickly and efficiently. Made sure I was still able to access my garage and driveway during the process. If they ever needed to go to our backyard they always made sure to close the gate again so my dogs wouldn’t escape.

Remove old walkway and patio dug out and install sub base insert and install granite Beacon Hill it was approximately 689 ft.² to install and put in the poly joint sand. Completely replaced sidewalk in front of house and north side of house. Complete tear out and replaced with granite Beacon Hill Bar Oak accents patio stones All work was done professionally and in a timely manner. What Do Paver Walkways Cost To Build?
Small Walkways
$3500 - $6500
This would be for a smaller walkway less than 10 feet long and 4 or 5 feet wide. This includes site prep, labor, materials, and installation.
Medium Sized Walkways
$6500 - $9500
This would be for a medium sized walkway up to 30 feet long and 4 or 5 feet wide. This could include additional elements such as lighting, surrounding gardens, and more.
Steps & Stairs
$7500 - $12,000+
This would be for a stone or paver set of steps or stairs to handle an elevation change on your property. Steps and stairs require some careful thought and preparation.
Paver Walkway FAQ
For comfort and safety, most residential walkways should be at least 3 feet wide. This allows two people to walk side by side. For front entryways or high-traffic areas, 4–5 feet is recommended for a more spacious feel.
In most Quad Cities neighborhoods, simple walkways do not require permits. However, if your project includes structural elements such as large retaining walls, major grading, or changes near city easements, permits may be needed. We’ll advise you on requirements for your specific property.
Yes. We can integrate low-voltage or LED lighting into your walkway design. This improves both safety and curb appeal by illuminating paths, steps, or landscape features at night.
We install walkways using a variety of durable materials, including concrete pavers, paving stones, natural flagstone, and poured concrete. Pavers are the most popular choice because of their design flexibility, strength, and ease of repair.
Proper base preparation is the most important part of a long-lasting walkway. We excavate the soil to the correct depth, add layers of compacted gravel, and ensure proper grading for drainage. Cutting corners in this stage leads to shifting or sinking pavers over time.
Absolutely. If your existing walkway is sinking, uneven, or outdated, we can lift the old pavers, rebuild the base properly, and reinstall or replace the surface. This is often more cost-effective than starting from scratch and gives you a refreshed, stable walkway.
With proper installation and maintenance, a paver walkway can last 25–50 years. Individual pavers can also be replaced if one gets damaged, which makes pavers more durable and repairable than poured concrete.
Yes. Aside from occasional sweeping and joint sand replenishment, paver walkways require minimal upkeep. Sealing can also be applied for added protection against stains and weather.
